I'm just not a very good blogger...oh well.
I was going to go to Lexington today, but slightly panicked at the thought of dealing with traffic, crowds, heat, etc., so blew it off. I'm not very irritated with myself, but that might change if Mama Mia! makes an exit from the local theatres. I do want to see it, I just...I don't know. Like I said, I couldn't deal with crowds & heat & traffic today. Went to East Side Kroger instead! Spent waaaaay too much money, but I now have my 10 cent gas discount--woo hoo! Spent almost the entire day catching up at the PPK & cruising thru ONTD. I waste more time online, I swear. If I devoted half the time that I spend online to practicing piano, I could probably give Tori Amos a run for her money! Maybe not...
What's going on tonight? Probably slogging through Entertainment Weekly (I HATE the new format!), reading the Dammapada (sp?), and maybe drinking a beer. Not sure about that last part--we only have two in the house, and Jeremy might want them, since they're his. And, I feel a little weird drinking & reading the Dammapada (sp?)--five precepts & all :)
I'm off...

Watched a good movie last night--Bright Young Things, Stephen Fry's directorial debut. Satire originally written by Evelyn Waugh about the Roaring 20's, and it made me think a lot about "the more things change, the more they stay the same". It's made me realize that the upper class party culture, and the paparazzi & gossip that accompanies it, is not a new thing (not that I didn't already know that, but this film just brought it more into focus, if that makes any sense). What was going on then is going on now, just with different names, and the bands & clothes are different. It's like all of humanity is stuck on this endless merry-go-round, and we ain't EVER getting off. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, really.
I was hoping to talk Jeremy into taking the weekend off--he doesn't have to work today (Saturday), and he doesn't have a paintball game either. He insisted on going to Horse Cave to clean out the house, though. It's ironic, how I've been annoyed with the slow pace and wanting to get the house done, and him complaining every time about how he doesn't want to go down there, and now that I don't want to go he does. He went alone this time, but not because I'm feeling lazy (well, not the only reason :) ): the trailer is empty, and I get REALLY car sick when the Jeep is pulling an empty trailer. Hence, I get the house to myself for the morning. Yay!
Wow! Busy day! Quite a bit was left over from the past couple of days, so I had TONS to do.
Really looking forward to SYTYCD!

Okay, so I had a LJ account that I never used. Well, I'm baaaaack! Not that anyone will read this but me.
Anyway, what's going on today? I just got back from Orange Beach, AL--very nice vacation, courtesy of the 'rents. DH & I weren't too crazy about picking up the dogs from the vet this morning, tossing them in a crate at home, & then going to work. Harsh! So, I'm staying home with them today. 'S okay--I'm finishing the last Harry Potter book (sob!) and surfing online, doing laundry, etc.
Food for today: scrambled tofu (Isa's recipe) w/ Boca links, reduced calorie cranberry juice, Newman O's, curried tempeh salad in a white pita
